Happy 2nd Birthday, Cameron!

It actually happened.  Cameron Nicole turned 2 on Friday.  Two!  She was all smiles from the moment she woke up.  When she came downstairs, she saw decorations hanging from the ceiling and balloons everywhere.  The theme for the day was "Things that Make Cami Smile."  I think it was a big success.
This sweet sugar slept until after 9am on her big day.  After she got up, I asked her if she would like to go get donuts, which got a big "yes!"

Several sprinkle donuts later, this kid was loving life even more.  We played while the big kids were at school and then she took a nap.  When she woke up, Bubba and Lila were home and we were ready to go meet some friends at the park.

It was an unusually beautiful day in January.  The sun was shining so brightly and the kids were ready to play outside.

Madison, Finley, Brooklynn, Cowen, Corbett and Dylan all met us at the park.  Feeding the birds and ducks was the first thing on the Birthday Girls' list.

She stood right near the edge and hollered at the seagulls to come closer.  "Come here Seagulls!"

We had a few ducks come over our way, but they must have recently been fed.

Thank goodness the seagulls were hungry, though!

One very happy little chickadee.

Even though this was an impromptu park celebration, her sweet friends still brought her birthday presents.

This water bottle from Finley and Brooklynn was at the top of her list!  Just ask her and she'll tell you--"Mine water bottle."

After gift time, Cami was monkeying around on everything.

Smiling from ear to ear--I love it.

After the park, we kept the party going and headed to Braum's for some ice cream--another Cami favorite.  Yep, I fed them ice cream at 5pm--before dinner.  Livin' large!

Dylan came for ice cream, too, and after a few minutes decided that he really needed to be near the birthday girl.  He shimmied over in the booth and started to go in for a hug.
Needless to say, she was not impressed!

Unrequited love.

She kept saying, "No Dylan. Dop (stop) Dylan.  Go way, Dylan."  This may have been the only time she wasn't smiling, but the rest of us were dying laughing.

She was still talking about Dylan during dinner, too, and told her daddy how Bubba made him stop.  He's such a good big brother.  We ate hot dogs, mac and cheese, bake beans, and fruit in honor of this little gal.  So easy:)

Then we lit her candles, sang Happy Birthday to you!, and watched as she blew out her candles like a pro.

Still smiling--such a great day so far, and the fun wasn't over yet.  Next up--presents!

Before she opened her gifts from us, the kids played with the balloons.  This kid loves some good balloon fun.

Since she'd been talking all about her "hoccer game," we got her a pink soccer ball, shin guards and pink soccer socks.

Then we set up the goal.  She placed the ball and promptly kicked it into the net.  Goal!!!

Being two is pretty darn cool.

But it's also really exhausting.  She partied hard all day.
Happy Birthday, Cameron! We couldn't love you any more.
