Fort Worth Zoo for Poppi's Birthday

We have been going to the Fort Worth Zoo for Poppi's birthday for the past 10 years.  Jared was able to go that first year, but hasn't been back since--stinkin' work always gets in the way!  This year we went on a weekend, though, so Jared was able to go with us again.

That first year, Jackson loved feeding the fish.

Pa Hays met us over there and really enjoyed seeing all the animals with little Jackson.

Madison and Jackson were so small!

He's always had the BEST smile, though.  Oh my goodness, the cuteness is too much!

This year, we had a new baby with us.
It was a beautiful day with a little chill in the air.  Both the young and the young-at-heart made sure to bring their best hats!

We saw the chimps and gorillas first...

and after not finding the orangutans, we walked towards the zebras...

and onto our next destination--feeding the giraffes!

Everyone got a turn to feed them and all were happy.

Sweet, shy Connor preferred to admire them from afar with his cousin.

We saw lots of other cool animals...

including this sleeping hippo!

Cami loved being so close to his aquarium.

It was such a nice day for a stroll,

and spending time with our family.

I thought these meerkats were too cute!

I'm pretty sure that Mason did, too.
This girl is a big fan of feeding the friendly birds.

When I was her age, I had a pet bird that looked just like the blue one on the left!

Everyone got a chance to feed a bird...

and Jackson was proud of himself for coaxing this one to sit on the feeder stick.

Such an enjoyable day spent outside.

Happy Birthday to Poppi!

More great memories were made.  Mission accomplished.

Friendsgiving

We went to the second annual Friendsgiving at Price and Taylor's home a few days after Thanksgiving.  It's one of the best nights of the holiday season and something we have come to look forward to for many reasons.

So many of our very best friends were there, including Jenny and Taylor.
There's always good food...

sweet friends from near and far...

and the most fun play room ever!
This game room has it all--ping pong, foosball, pac man, a big screen TV...

hoop shoot...

and even gymnastics!  It's SO MUCH FUN!

The boys explored the balcony (and maybe the roof for a minute),

while the smaller kids practiced their driving skills.
Cami was very brave riding around with 3-year-old JP!

I enjoyed hanging out with Megan...

and Lila loved taking care of sweet Josie.
Oh yeah, there's also shuffleboard in the game room--I'm telling you, the most fun game room ever.

After dinner, the girls found the Tiff's Treats...

and the boys found a football to play catch with.

Such a great night with some of my best girls!

We love this crew and are really thankful to have them in our lives.  Happy Friendsgiving!

Thanksgiving 2019

We rolled into town late Tuesday night and were so thankful to sleep in our own comfy beds.

The next day, our sweet neighbor, Miss Gay, brought over this lovely coffee cake and delicious cookies.  How nice is that?!

By Thursday morning we were prepared for our two feasts!  I am so very thankful for these three and their "baby" brother!

I'm grateful for their two beautiful cousins, too.

I could just eat her up!  Look at those cheeks!

I'm thankful for my parents, who made us a really tasty meal...

and for Lyndsie's cookies that looked like pumpkin pie, as well as our Turkey bundt cake!

I'm thankful Colleen spent the holiday with everyone...

and that these four were well behaved at their fancy kid table.

I'm grateful that Meme was able to join us, and that Lynridge even delivered her straight to our front door!

She loved seeing everyone.

I'm also thankful for this guy and his family!

We are thankful that Jackson has two boy cousins on the Hays side!
I'm thankful that Jared and his brothers are so close--hopefully Jackson will have that same relationship with Connor and Mason one day.

We are certainly thankful for such excellent food...

and did our best at our second huge meal of the day!

Happy Turkey Day!
Count your blessings!
