We have talked about this day for years! It finally happened. Jared turned 40! We celebrated BIG, just as we should have, with a few parties, some festive decorations, a great cake, and all of his favorite people.
| We set the stage for his family party on Friday night, December 6th. |
| Both of our families came to the house, including the two youngest, Mason and Lilly. |
| Maddie and Jackson were ready to party down... |
| and so were Shelley and her baby boy! |
| There was plenty of itsy-bitsy spider... |
| and so many smiles. |
| Lyndsie made a decadent chocolate ganache birthday cake... |
| we had the oversized birthday balloons... |
| and Johnny the Elf made sure to highlight how many years Jared has been on this earth, down to the second! |
| Cheers to 40 years! |
| I am so very thankful for this man right here. |
| He is so loved by many people! |
After cake and presents, he even treated us to a little solo performance on his new guitar. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?! |
The next morning we were up bright and early. This fun surprise was waiting in our front yard for the birthday boy. |
| Coach Jared was ready to lead his team to victory. |
| The girls didn't let him down, either, and won 18-0! |
| A few hours later, we were kicking off the next party with our good friends. The Birthday Taco Tour had begun! Everyone met at Velvet Taco and had their pick of any taco on the menu, along with a margarita. |
| The birthday boy wore his Vintage 1979 t-shirt, too. I love it! |
| Everyone gave the food two thumbs up... |
| and the night was off to a great start! |
| The margaritas got rave reviews, too. |
| A few minutes later, we hopped on our big bus and headed towards stop #2. |
| El Trompo was a really tiny taco stand in the trendy Bishop Arts District. Good food... |
| and a nice night to hang outside for a bit. |
| Next stop, El Come! This place was cool. All the baseball dads approved. |
| It even had this hidden room with a light-up bar... |
| and really good food and drinks. |
| A winner with everyone! |
| Desperados was our final destination, and was our only sit-down meal. |
| We had an entire room to ourselves, along with chips, queso, tacos and margaritas for all. |
| I think this was the favorite spot for most. It's just hard to beat those Desperados tacos! |
| We all enjoyed our time together... |
| and loved hanging out with lots of our very favorite people. |
| Back on the bus we went, to our original destination. Gotta love Jason for coming prepared with his cutting board for limes! |
Such an amazing night, with a fantastic group. Cheers to Jared! Happy birthday, babe!
We love you! |
