A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Highlights of early December

Decorating Meme's room with my favorite little elf.  We bought a wreath for her door, hung garland in her room, decorated a small Christmas tree and placed santas all around the room.  It brought a huge smile to her face, which meant it brought a huge smile to my face.  One of my favorite days of this past holiday season.

The Murphy Mavericks kicked off their season in their sweet new uniforms.  This is a big deal.  They've had the same ones since Kindergarten!

My 5 year old basketball boy!  I can't even stand the cuteness.

Following in her brother's footsteps, Lila won the Hoop Shoot contest at her school.  She beat all other 3rd and 4th grade girls and was invited to represent Hunt at the PISD district wide competition.

Pretty funny, especially since she opted out of playing basketball this year! 

We had more birthday parties.  The unicorn rainbow one for Avery was at the top of Cami's list.

Lila went along with me and I was so thankful!  I didn't know many other moms since Avery is a friend from school.  Hanging out with Lila is such a pleasure.  I just love this kid.

Miss Lilly hung out with us some as well.  During dinner, she was just playing along one minute, and fast asleep the next!

Sweet girl woke up a little while later, just happy as could be.

The biggest event happened later that night.  We discovered that Lilly could sit up all on her own!  And she was only 5 months old!  A full month ahead of schedule.  Look at that precious big girl.

The Golden Rockets had an undefeated season this year, and were asked to represent Richardson in the Regional soccer tournament.

We have loved watching Jackson find his quick feet again!

Any time there's a playground nearby a tournament, you can bet this kid will be there.

It was a brisk day, but perfect for soccer.

These boys won every game and had the chance to play in the finals!

They tried their best, but came up a few goals short.  We were all so proud of them, though!

Jackson is so lucky to have Coach Fadi.  He thinks J is a superstar and is such a positive influence on all the kids.

Gooooo Golden Rockets!

He wanted that first place medal so bad.  Smiling through defeat.  I love sports for lots of reasons, but learning how to deal with adversity is at the top of the list.  As we were walking to the car, I was able to remind him that even though his team didn't have their best game, they had so much to be proud of this season.  They are a true rec team that only practices once a week.  Somehow they managed to not only win every game, but did so against boys a year older.  I told Jackson to hold his head high and be proud.  He's a winner in my book any day.
