First Grade Field Trip
We took a bus downtown to visit the Perot Museum. This was my little group before our picnic lunch. Afterwards, Ms. Garner switched two boys in our group with two others from her group. Hallelujah!
| Ready to go see what the Perot has to offer. |
| These two were pleased as could be that they were in the same group together. |
| We checked out the solar system first... |
| getting to see what it looks like on Mars. |
| Then we went to the age of the dinosaurs. |
| This prehistoric creature was found in Rockwall County! |
| This prehistoric elephant was one of the most impressive things we saw, though. |
| We also got to experience what a real earthquake feels like...minus things falling on our heads! |
| The kids thought this was "pretty cool." |
| They also had a hands on learning experience about the water cycle. |
| Then we stood in line for 25 minutes, which may as well have been an hour, for this experience. It was a drill simulator, so it showed us what it would be like to drill 6000 feet beneath the earth's surface. |
| We got to be on it with all Hunt students, so that was fun. Hi, Ms. Garner! |
| Let's just say, the best part was the end! |
| The kids did so many things on the electronics floor, like see if they could get these papers to fly inside a wind tunnel... |
but their favorite was the bottom floor when they got to race! Lila and Maddie chose to race a pro soccer player--of course. |
The Musical Wall was our last stop before hopping on the bus. By this time, they were over the Perot--check out their faces! I guess a little museum goes a long way. |
| Meanwhile, Cami and Gigi were having the best day together. First, they went to gym and Cameron got to run, tumble and play. Then, they picked up some happy meals and went to have a picnic in the park. So fun! |
| It was a beautiful day and some of the wildflowers were still there. |
| After lunch, they walked down to the pond to feed the ducks. |
| It was the perfect afternoon for these ladies. |
