Tuesday was our non-ski day, but it was still jam-packed full of entertainment.
First up, Winona's, for the best breakfast in America. For real, it's that good.
| Everyone couldn't wait to go enjoy their pancakes, cinnamon rolls... |
| and cinnamon french toast. Muy delicioso! |
After breakfast, we walked a few blocks to our next destination. On the way, we passed the most scenic little river. God's beauty is everywhere in Steamboat. |
Thank goodness the Howelson Ice Arena wasn't too far away! It was pretty darn cold, especially without all our ski clothes on. |
| I'm so happy that we persevered, though. Bumper cars-on-ice were so entertaining! |
| We even talked Boom Pa... |
| and Gigi into doing them with us. |
| Who's having a great time? Everyone! |
| This little girl laughed the whole time. She loved chasing everyone and then bumping into them. She even tried her hand at driving, and thought it was so silly to spin us around in circles. |
| Maybe next year we'll come back and get everyone on ice skates! |
A few hours later, we were about to embark on another adventure. Snowmobiling through Rabbit Ears Pass! After a brief protest from the youngest one in our group, we were ready to go. She refused to give the thumbs up sign, though. Whatevs! |
Our guide was really great and took us through this amazing forest. I just kept thinking, "this is so magical." |
| The big kids were in awe of how deep the snow was everywhere they stepped. It was waist high only a few feet off the trail! They were in heaven. |
| Boom Pa and Jared both have red ski jackets, but it wasn't until they both had on red helmets and black face masks that they turned into twins. Who wore it best?! |
| After a short little journey through the woods, we came into this clearing. It was an area where the kids were allowed to drive--so cool. |
| Gigi said that Lila went so fast that it scared her! That's my little girl. She's got a need for speed. |
| And by this time, Little Miss Stubborn had decided that freezing temps and 30 mph winds meant she should wear her goggles. Cami wasn't so into having her picture taken, but was all about driving in the meadow. |
| "Get it, girl!" |
| We made it all the way up to Rabbit Ears Pass. The sun was out and you could see all the way to Wyoming. |
| Just look at this place! |
| "Hey, Cami, let's take a picture of all five of us. Pretty please?" |
| "Ok, fine. Have it your way. Just don't run off the side of this mountain!" |
| We felt like we were on top of the world. |
| A few minutes later, we hopped back on our snowmobiles and zipped back through the forest and meadows. |
| Our first snowmobile tour in Steamboat was a big hit. We warmed up by the furnace and got some hot chocolate in our bellies. Very gradually, the girls began to feel their fingers and toes again. And Cami said she had a great time--go figure! |
| That afternoon we took the kids swimming at the condo. There's something so cool about swimming while in the mountains. |
| The kids played... |
| and played... |
and finally ended up in the hot tub.
Only two more days left in paradise. Bring on the slopes! |
