Disney World 2014 - Day 1

We have been counting down for this trip for quite a long time now.  And last Monday, the big day was FINALLY here!!  We packed everything except our kitchen sink and were off to the airport.
I rode in the backseat with Jackson--Disney World, here we come!  I felt like I had been in class all semester and was about to take my final exam.  So much pressure to get this right!  Thank goodness my friend Carole had shared some of the secret to her Disney success--Ashlee Fort, her awesome Disney Travel Agent!  If you are looking to go to Disney World any time in the future, I highly recommend contacting her first: https://www.facebook.com/FairyDustVacations.  It's free for you and so worth it!  She booked all of our dining reservations AND got us the highly sought after fastpasses to Anna & Elsa and The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!  She also schooled me on all the ins and outs of WDW--it's so overwhelming, but she made it much easier.

We got everyone through security and had a little while to hang out before we took off.  These four monkeys were so excited.  It was pretty impossible to sit still, and really, how can you blame them?

J man and Maddie sat together with Gigi and Boom in front of them.

Daddy, Lila, Cameron and I were on the same row as the big kids.  It was Cami's first flight and we were all praying that she'd do good.  No worries at all--she ate, fell asleep, woke up a little later and was happy, then ate some more and chilled until we landed.  A perfect angel.  Yay!

We boarded the Magical Express (Disney bus) and it took us to our hotel.

An hour later we were hanging out on the balcony of our two bedroom villa at The Wilderness Lodge with these wacky kids.

After we got our luggage and groceries delivered, we were ready to go to Magic Kingdom!

We walked down to the lake behind our hotel and hopped on the next ferry.  So very easy.

When we got to the park, only Maddie and Jackson were awake.  The little girls were sound asleep!

Her big sister was asleep in the stroller, so she got to hang out in her daddy's arms.

We rode the Barnstormer first--Gigi and Maddie loved it...

and so did we.  First little roller coaster for both kids.

Next up was a ride on Dumbo...

which had some great views of the park.  That's the castle in the background.

Lila Lou finally awoke and was ready to ride some, too, so we hopped on Peter Pan's Flight.

It was a cute, slow-moving ride...

with all kinds of fun scenes.

After that, we rode It's a Small World and even Baby Cami got to go on it.  The kids loved this one because of the singing dolls, and the adults loved it because of all the nice air conditioning--a big bonus because it was HOT!!

We ate dinner at Colombia Harbor House and most of us got the fish and chips.  It was a quick and easy meal.  I was able to feed Cameron a bottle inside the restaurant and then we were back at it.

By this time it was getting late, but we couldn't pass up Buzz Lightyear's Ranger Spin.  It was so fun and my favorite of the day.

We got to shoot different targets throughout the ride--the more you hit, the more points you got.

Lila was our driver and controlled the spinning of our vehicle.  She was wacky with it and we were spinning like mad!

We said goodbye to Magic Kingdom and headed back to our hotel.  By the time we got to the ferry, Cami was asleep in her stroller.  She woke up crying about halfway back on the boat, so I picked her up.  Right after that, she began vomiting all over me.  All over everything--my hair, my clothes, down my shirt, on the boat, then on the dock after we got off.  It was awful.  She threw up the entire bottle of formula that she'd eaten a few hours before.  Not the best way to end our first night of vacation, but it could only go up from there, right?!

P.S. That was her last bottle of formula for the week--lesson learned.

It took a while for us to unpack and get the kids settled in for the night.  We all needed some good rest because we had lots of big plans for the next day.  Stay tuned for Day 2!
