Superbowl Sunday

We kicked off Superbowl Sunday with a Mavs win for J and his teammates.  They won 22 - 4 and he scored 8 points and had 1 assist.
Not only did I get to go watch him play after being absent for a few weeks, but his teacher came too!  How cool is that?!  She got to see lots of kids from school and cheered for every one of them.  Love her.

A few hours later, J man was showered and dressed to go to Memaw and Poppi's for the Superbowl.  Check out his get-up!  He was pulling for the Broncos, so he went with a navy blue jersey, white baseball pants, blue socks, orange laced shoes, football helmet (with a chin strap on!), sunglasses, water bottle AND my ipod tucked into his back pocket (ya, know, to make it look like he was warming up to awesome music).  This kid cracks me up.

We had a feast of yummy superbowl foods--queso with beef, sour cream and guacamole, pigs in a blanket and black bean dip were our appetizers, but Football Joe just went with plain Ruffles potato chips.  Guess that dip would have been kind of tough to get through his helmet and he wore it for a good amount of the game.

Little sister snagged the helmet for a little while, though, and was so pleased with herself.  She was also cheering for the "Den Broncs" and wore her orange shirt to support them.  Guess it's only fitting that the ones with the most team spirit won the majority of the Superbowl Squares.  Jackson won two of the four quarters and Lila won one of them.  Almost a family sweep!  And baby sister was happy as a clam to sleep in Aunt Lyndsie's arms for a good long while.  After she ate, she went right back to sleep and got to snuggle with Aunt Maria...

and before she left, she got to hang out with Memaw, Poppi and Uncle Scott, too.  Such a doll.  She didn't cry the whole time we were there and still slept a good amount during the night, too.
A Super Sunday indeed!
