The Pool Is OPEN!

Just four little words, and yet such a big sentence in our world this week.  There were days we thought it might never happen.  I finally just started telling our pool contractor that I was hosting our first swim party on Saturday, and that the pool needed to be ready!

Jackson got invited to spend the night at Cooper's house on Friday night.  With the impending splash day on Saturday morning, though, we asked Cooper to stay with us.  After breakfast, the kids got on their swim suits and took the first plunge.

Yeehaw!

Next up--the slide!  It's got some serious zip!  So much fun.  And not just for kids either!

We bought some floats for the big day.  Lila loves her new sting ray.

By mid-afternoon, our first pool party guests began to arrive. 
We invited both sides of the family to join us in this very big day.

Everyone hung out for a little while before hopping in the water...

and it wasn't long before we had a pool full of peeps.  The water felt so nice!

Jackson and Daddy practiced some high-flying squirrel maneuvers,



while the kids started working on their water balloons...

which let the adults visit a little bit better.  Our first ever pool party was a great big success!

 

Sunday morning the kids were asking right away when we could go swim again. 
We said, "right now!" and they didn't waste any time getting ready.

 

 

Jackson gives our pool two big thumbs up.

 

So does this little water baby.

And it's a big hit for this fish, too.  She swam most of the day, but finally figured out that floating around is pretty nice, too.

 



We love our new pool!

My guess is that they swim every day the rest of the summer:)

And who are we kidding?  I love it, too!  I even brought back the front flip off the diving board. 
Giddy up! 

Wee!  I'm starting her out early and hopefully she will be flipping off the diving board in a few years, too.

Sun, fun, pool time. 
It was the perfect afternoon with our family of five, and we can't wait to do it again today!
