Lazy summer--where are you?

Non-stop.  That's the best way I can describe our summer so far.  It's been a little crazy, and I'm just trying to keep up!

Last week, Jackson attended his first ever Dallas Cowboys Football Camp with his buddy Ben.  Cole was supposed to go, too, but he was sick the whole week.  Bummer.  The other two had fun, but it was seriously hot...and they were out in the sun from 9:30am - 3:30pm for three days straight.  Guess they learned what the pros feel like!

They began every morning with practice drills...

but their favorite part was playing flag football in the afternoons.

It was a cool thing for them to do, and they got instruction from lots of former pro and college football players...but maybe next time we will look for a camp that ends by noon!

Madison had her first 3 v 3 soccer tournament of the season, and we went to cheer for her team.
It was HOT, but they did awesome!  Love their eye black, too.  Soccer is serious.

This girl played five games in six hours and won every game until the championship.
They lost 4 - 2, and came in second place, but we were all super-excited for them!  Go Maddie!

Jackson hasn't been slacking this week by any means.  He led his football team to a big victory on Monday night, winning 34 - 0.  Two nights later, the competition was a bit more stiff, but this kid hung in there and threw the winning touchdown pass to end the game.  Warriors won 13 -12!!
I had no idea that flag football could be so intense!  His daddy, both grandpas and I couldn't have been more proud of him.

His baby sister is still not that into toys, and has been wearing her cranky pants most of the week, but getting a hold of Bubba's hat and sunglasses sure did bring out a big smile.

"Is this a good look for me?"

And even though she has more toys in our house to play with than at Toys R Us, this is what entertained her for 40 minutes.  Wipes.  And she was thrilled about it!
Nothing like a good, clean floor to make a girl smile.

Big sister went to Music Camp all week at the Heights.  What a blessing!  She had a performance on Thursday and her little sister slept through the whole thing.  Now that's a miracle in my book!

I got to watch my little girl sing her heart out for the Lord.  Not much else can beat that.

Yesterday afternoon we got a surprise visit from cousin Kalen who lives in Glen Rose.  How fun! The boys played a little ball and I got to visit with his mama, my cousin Jenny, for a while.

We ended the evening with a GOOD meal at The Fatted Calf in Rockwall for Uncle Andrew's birthday.  Despite it's name, there was a ton of excellent seafood on the menu. There was even some great live music, too, so we jammed while we ate.  Genius.

Happy Birthday Andrew!  32 looks good on you!
