A Spooktacular Halloween

The big day was finally here.  This day is second only to Christmas in the eyes of our children. We kicked it off early for Cameron.  She got to attend school dressed up...

and was thrilled to see Mrs. Brandt was also a black cat for Halloween!

The kids went trick-or-treating inside the building, since it was raining this year, but still had a good time.

After school, we zoomed over to Meme's place to join her at their annual party.
This little lady was all dolled up!

And guess what?  Meme was also a black cat!  We added some black whiskers and a black nose and completed her look...

then we wheeled her down to the party room to join her new friends.
Jackson was an old man...

Lila was a unicorn...

and their baby sister was the kitty cat.

A couple hours later, we were at the Leedy's house for their party.

 Lila found Madi and Lauren
Madison found her group of friends...including the hilarious pink pig!

There were so many kids it was impossible to keep track!

This kid wanted to go trick-or-treating with his buddies, so we said goodbye.

All the boys had a blast, I heard, and the girls did too!

Happy Halloween 2018!

Family Style Weekend

I've always said that the busyness of October is as crazy as December.  It's full of sports and has plenty of other activities going as well.  The weekend before Halloween was jam-packed full, but our kids loved every minute.

When I picked Cami up from school that Friday afternoon, I was surprised to see that she was going to have their class mascots, Buffy and Buffy Jr., for the weekend.  What's a girl to do?  Bring them to the Halloween party, of course!

So many of Lila's friends were at Jailen and Jaiden's spooky Halloween bash.

Thank goodness Calley's little sister was also there.  She loves Cami so much!

There was so much going on, from a disco ball in the garage...

to dancing/play-fighting T-Rex's as well!

Then they showed a scary movie on the outdoor screen.  When the cartoon dog got run over, Cami got so sad, so we left.  Who shows a disturbing movie to little kids?!  I was sorta peeved.
The next morning, Cami had recovered and was ready for a soccer-filled morning.  She went to watch Lila first...

who played so well for the two little buffaloes!

This girl is a wall at defender!

After Lila's game, we raced to Jackson's.  He'd only been playing a few minutes before we had to run over to Cameron's field--thank goodness they were at the same park.  Coach Jared got the kids warmed up...

and then it was Superheroes time!

#12 was on fire!  She scored 8 goals!

My goodness, what a difference a season makes.
Between these two girls, they scored at least 12 goals.
All three teams won that morning, which doesn't happen too often.
Way to go, my little soccer babies!

Big brother had another game that next morning.

He scored at least 2 or 3 goals that time, one of them even being left-footed.  Yeehaw!

That afternoon, the Superheroes had another game, too.

With only 4 kids to start the game, they had just enough to play.  It was close for a while, but then they pulled out the victory.

We had to get movin, because Cami had two birthday parties to get to.  First up, Colby's was at Ninja Warrior...

Then home for a quick costume change and onto Dylan's Halloween-themed party.

Superman was pretty stoked that this lovely little dancer was there to celebrate with him!

Whew!  We even had a patio lunch with this sweet baby girl, too.

She's so loved by all!

Gig 'em Owls!

GHS Homecoming was so fun this year!  It was mine and Jared's 20 year reunion the same weekend, so we had lots of Owl activities to keep us busy.

Mom and I kicked it off by going to the pep rally on Friday afternoon.  We took a walk down memory lane and found both of our bricks.

We took the three girls out of school early, too.  They wore their best black and gold!

We even got out picture made with another former cheerleader and some of the current ones.

That evening, the weather just wasn't the best.  It was raining and cold...so we decided to meet some GHS friends at Intrinsic, near the football stadium.

It was loud and a little crazy, but we enjoyed hanging out with these peeps and their kids.

How in the world has it been 20 years since we graduated from high school?!

The rain stopped after halftime, so we made it to the game.  The poor Owls just aren't having the best year, though, and didn't get win.  Bummer.

Saturday night was showtime for our reunion.

Jenny and I worked the entrance table, getting everyone a nametag, drink tickets and welcoming them to the reunion.

We ended up with a packed back room at Desperados.  It was so great!

I enjoyed catching up with so many old friends...

and hanging with some of my very best friends, too.

All five of us cheered together at Garland.  I just love these girls.
Somehow we pulled off a reunion in only a few short months.  As busy as our lives are, that's a big feat!  Thank goodness the next one won't be for at least five more years!
