Farewell, Cool Cuts!

We have officially upgraded in the hair-cutting department. After our last experience at Cool Cuts, which left Jackson with "the worst haircut I've ever seen," according to Jared, we decided to take him to Hair Creations. Joe has been cutting Jared's hair for years and has just the right touch with the little guy as well.

He really was so excited to go see Joe...despite this look on his face!

He even let Joe use the clippers! I was truly amazed. Quite the difference from when I took him to Cool Cuts and they made me hold his head against my chest as he screamed bloody murder. Now that was fun. We are all so much happier and will be seeing Joe on a regular basis:)

Big Day!

Today was quite a milestone for young Jackson. We've been making progress in the potty training arena for the last week. I'll take him to his little potty about 4 times a day and most of the time he'll sit down and go potty, which is pretty exciting in itself. Today, however, he came running into the study buck naked hollering, "mommy, mommy, c'mere, potty!" So, I took off running towards his bathroom. He promptly sat down on his potty and went! It was the first time that it's been all his idea and he held it long enough to get his diaper off, come get me, and run back to the toilet. Way to go, little man! You make mama so proud!

The big 29!

Yours truly turned 29 yesterday and had so much fun celebrating. Now I am officially in my last year as a twentysomething:) Better live it up!

Dinner at Houlihan's with the fam

Back at the house. J is sporting his new cowboy hat. I love it!

Saying "cheese" for the camera. Such an authentic smile:)

Helping me blow out the candles--he can really do it now. Too bad this skill arrived a few weeks after his own birthday.

After enjoying my delicious italian cream cake, it was time for some presents. Here are my new boots from Jared. I got to pick them out and am so excited about them! I was blessed with lots of other great presents as well. Thank you to everyone for such a fun day.

Dirt Cheap TV!

We recently got a new T.V. for our living room. This means our other television is looking for a new home now. It's in perfect condition, we just don't have room for it anywhere else in our house. So, my friends, for only $150 this could be a great addition to your home!

It's a Sony Trinitron 32 inch t.v.

Jared said we should take a pic of the back. Something to do with showing all the hook-ups. Anyway, here it is:) If you have any questions or are interested in buying it, please let me know. Thanks!

Weekend of Fun

Jackson had a really good weekend and wanted me to share some of the highlights. It all began on Friday night when he got to spend the night with two of his favorite people, Gigi & Boom. After a good night's sleep, our little guy was ready for some action.

He started out by pumping some iron, with a little help from Boom, of course.

After a hard workout, every athlete knows a good stretch is a must.

That same afternoon, we went to a birthday party for Hunter. It was at Bounce Town and I thought that Jackson would not want to really participate since he's always been scared of those things. Boy, was I sure wrong! He loved it!

He ran all around the bounce obstacle course and went down all the big slides.

After the bounce time ended, it was time for pizza. Now, we knew the kid liked pizza, but this day he ate a remarkable amount. This skinny little thing put down 4 slices of pizza, a piece of cake and some ice cream!

Hard to believe he was still awake after such a big meal. Little Romeo was in full effect with The Pointer sisters, though:) Wouldn't this picture be so cute if he started dating one of them one day?

Day on the Farm

It was such a pretty day that we decided to pack up the kids and head on out to the farm. We went to visit Papaw and Granny who live in Greenville and had the perfect afternoon. Jackson was in heaven with all the animals and other cool things they have there.

Checking out the backyard

Petting the donkeys, Mama Rosy and Baby Butterscotch.

Hanging out on the front porch with Papaw and Andi.

Feeding the cows. Jackson wanted to pet the "baby cows" so bad, but they were a little skittish and never let us get too close.

Driving the tractor--a big fave of the day!

Climbing the ladder to work on the tractor. Turns out he needed his hammer, which was in Garland. He'll sure remember to take all his tools with him next time, though.

Playing on the see-saw with Ms. Andi.

Chasing the big chickens around the yard. There were also a lot of baby chicks, but they didn't want to get too close to us, either. Arghh! Noticing a pattern?

Showing Madison how to use the spray nozzle. The waterhose was also a huge hit. Jackson "watered" the yard for a good 30 minutes. He can't wait to see how his garden is doing when we go back next time.

Enjoying a hostess cupcake at the end of the day. Check out Madison--she's making a beeline for that cupcake! Definitely the perfect way to end our day at the farm:)

Chit chat

Mom came over to watch Jackson yesterday and when I got home this is what I saw.

They were just hanging out on the front steps. Jackson's eating his sucker and they were having a great little chat. So precious I just had to take a picture. He's lucky to have such a sweet Gigi.
