Bring On Summer!

Yesterday was just one of those perfect days.  The Cubs played hard, best they've done all year, and won 15-4 against a good team.  After the game, we headed over to our friends' house to go swim.
Two very happy kiddos!  Lila asked me all week if it's summer yet.  With the 88 degree weather we had, the water was awesome.  Summer or not, it was a great day to swim.

Cami didn't get in the water, but she had fun talking to Larry.

Pretty soon after this, she fell asleep in the bouncer that was on their covered porch.  She snoozed while the rest of us swam.  Such a good baby.

Jackson and Cole played a 2 on 1 game of basketball against Larry.  They might have fouled him a time or two!

J dunked the ball at least 23 times.  And loved it every single time.  He even asked me to video it.

Lila was content to noodle around the pool.  She said that she wasn't scared of going under, she just didn't want to.

We swam a lot, ate some great food, then the kids swam some more.  It was 9:45 by the time we left!  The kids had a blast and so did we.  Summer, we're ready for ya!  This mama is ready for a more relaxed schedule and kids that might sleep in on occasion.

Big Week for a Little Girl

When you're a 3.5 month old little girl, you're learning new things all the time.  It's getting hard to keep up with Ms. Cameron, but I'm doing my best.
She found her thumb last week!  Please excuse the belly shot--the dress got caught up in her excitement of looking for her thumb.  She doesn't do it all the time, but definitely more than her siblings ever did.  It's so much easier for her to find than the paci!

She's all about tummy time, too.  Happy girl!

She's got a #1 fan for sure!

Her head is so steady now.  It makes it much easier to sit in big sister's lap.

She loves to find her toes whenever I'm changing her diaper.

Laughing out loud is also a big thing this week...she has good, hard, belly laughs....

but can be serious, too:)

Toes!

I could play with this little girl all day.

She loves smooches from her mama...

and tries to give them back to me, too.

My little love bug.

Teacher Appreciation Week

We did it!  Another week of Teacher Appreciation is in the books!  So many parents helped make this a very successful week, and we got lots of support from local businesses, too.
A mom found this fab idea to do a Dr. Seuss themed week at the preschool.  We all loved it, so we just took it and ran.  The teachers got these adorable invitations in their boxes the week before...

and on Monday morning they were greeted by this Cat in the Hat!

Another mom is a professional photographer, and she had taken all of the staff's pictures a few weeks ago.  They got to choose their Dr. Seuss props.  I think they turned out really well!
We decorated their work room and it looked so festive:)

Monday was Hop On Popcorn day!

Uptown Popcorn gave us a little discount and we bought the teachers 4 different flavors.

The prettiest, but I heard it was very sweet!

The parents bought gift cards for the teachers and each teacher got to choose which one they wanted.

They also got a cupcake made by How Sweet It Is Bakeshop.  Yum!

Tuesday they came in hungry and ready for the Butter Battle Breakfast.  Parents signed up to bring items--breakfast casserole, Starbucks danishes and coffee (all dontated), fruit, donuts, cinnamon rolls and kolaches from The Kolache Factory.  It was a feast!

They also were treated to a personalized sugar cookie also made by How Sweet It Is.  They were adorable!
Wednesday morning they were treated to breakfast again--blueberry muffins, coffee cake, and cinnamon clusters and chicken minis all donated by Chick-Fil-A!

Another mom also had this amazing Dr. Seuss cake and cookies made for them. It was awesome!

Mrs. Fleck thought it was so cool that she even brought her class in to admire it:)

Thursday was the Whoo-Feast and they had some mighty good grub: Café Max Caesar and pasta salads, Jimmy John's sandwiches and Chick-Fil-A lemonade and tea.

A grandma with a baking business also made them iced fish cookies--so nice!

The Whoo-Dessert Bar was on Friday--about 10 parents brought all kinds of pies, cakes, cookies and brownies.  In addition to all of the food, the teachers all got a Christian book and won raffle prizes all week, ranging from $5 at Starbucks to $50 at The Loft and Barnes and Noble.  It was a fun week honoring the wonderful people who take care of our kids like their own.  We hope they felt the love this week!

Cheetah Girl Highlights

The Cheetah Girls have had another awesome season this spring.  We were so excited to have them professionally photographed by Matt Gomez last weekend.  His sports photography is top notch--check it out at www.focusedonfun.com

There are 10 fierce Cheetahs this go round.

They mean business, but still have plenty of silly in them!

Lila and Maddie.  Pretty sure they were talking strategy before the game started.
