Steamboat - Last Day to Ski!

Wednesday was our final day to ski--boo!  We had all had such a great time and didn't want this to be our last day on the mountain.  It's just so, so wonderful.  Not only did we get to have awesome adrenaline rushes while flying down the sides of mountains, but we got to do that while watching our kids have the time of their lives.  It honestly doesn't get much better.  Oh yeah, and everywhere we looked was like a scene from a postcard!
That morning, all 6 of us skied down from our condo - the big building on the top left- and met Gigi and Cameron at the base.

Cami was pretty impressed with Gondola Square...

but thought the ride up the gondola was even better.

We had rounded everyone up for a short photo-session at the top.  When we started it was clear and blue skies.  About halfway through, it started to snow.  A lot!
By the time we finished, our helmets were covered with snow and we had to put on all our warm clothes.  Another round of snow--here we go!
I said goodbye to a sad little girl and she rode the gondola back down with her Gigi.

Then the rest of us took off into the snowy tundra.  Lila and I caught up with these folks at the teepee, and realized for the first time that you can actually go inside it!  It's on our list to check out next year.
For the first time, our ski team was able to stay together, for the most part.  Yeehaw!

I was really proud of my girl for taking the breaks off and skiing like I knew she could.  Go Lila!

We took the gondola up again...
and finally found the terrain park with these cool ski-thru teepees.
There goes an almost-too-tall-to-fit Jackson...
but Madison had no problem:)
Before long, we had worked up an appetite again, so we stopped at Slopeside.
Braids.  This girl.  Oh my word.  Love my little snow bunny to pieces.
I finally got to have my Colorado Bulldog, too!  And it was so good.

It stopped snowing about half way through the afternoon and these kids started skiing like pros.  They conquered Vagabond, a tough blue, with no problem at all.  Madison even wore the Go Pro, she was so confident about her abilities.
We skied until it was almost time for the lifts to close, and I loved watching my peeps having so much fun.

Jackson told his sister "good job!" when we made it back to the condo.  I was so proud of both of them for an excellent last day of skiing.

Since it was our last night in Steamboat, we went to dinner at a new place.  Mambo Italiano is where it's at!  Such great food.  We will definitely be back!

Next time we will make the reservation earlier, though.  They were running behind, so we didn't get seated until after 8pm.  By 9:00, both this girl...

and this girl were down for the count.  Falling asleep at the table is next level tired!

Score for this one, though, who got to enjoy the homemade ice cream sandwiches that came with the kids meals!
