Oh, baby!

The day after school got out for Jackson, we had some really fun gifts for the kids to open.  We told them they were end-of-school presents and that Lila should go first.

Our hope was that Lila would open hers, ask Jackson to read it for her and they would figure out some exciting news.  He read it, but then just sat there.  Nada.  Nothing came to mind for some reason!

We went ahead and let him open up his gift and then had to explain why they were getting shirts that said "Big Brother Jan. 2014" and "Big Sister Jan. 2014."  After we told them, they were so thrilled.  It was a really special time for all of us.  Lila said, "we're going to have a weal baby in our house?!"  Yes, we are.  "Can I hold it?"  As much as you want, big sister!  She just smiled from ear to ear.

Then we headed off to Splitsville to meet up with our fam and share the big news with them, too.  Much to our amazement, it took quite a while for all of them to notice the kids' shirts!  In fact, the two grandpas never saw them, so the kids had to just tell them.  Everyone was so happy for us, though, and it was a fun way to tell them about Baby Hays #3.

The rest of the night these three had a blast at the bowling alley.  How cute are their bowling shoes?  I didn't even know they came in sizes that small!

The girls both used the bowling ramp, but J did it all on his own.  Nice form, J man!

We are very much looking forward to welcoming a new baby into our family.  There is no doubt in my mind that Jackson and Lila will be the BEST big brother and big sister ever.
