Super, Super, Superheroes!

She has waited, and waited, and waited some more.  She's gone to way more practices and games than most kids do in their entire childhood!  We promised her that when she turned 4, we would let her be on her very own soccer team.  So even though this is the busiest season of our lives, we made good on it.  Miss Cami is now on the cutest co-ed soccer team.

Nash was our #1 recruit for the season.  He may be little, but he's got a heckuva leg!  He already has one season of indoor soccer under his belt, too.  And Cami just might have a crush on him.  She was giddy with excitement when we arrived at practice and saw him already on the field.

Shortly thereafter, the entire team showed up.  Coach Dad got to officially meet his 2018 team.
It's made up of school friends and a few other kiddos that we know.  Go Superheroes!
He had them warm-up by going for a run...
and then began to play some games.

There were plenty of water breaks...

ponytails flying high...

and BIG smiles.

They did a few more skills drills...

and then called it a night.  These kids did SO fantastic!

Cameron and Nash were both super impressed with Coach Dad and his two lovely assistant coaches.

Yesterday was the icing on the cake.  Their jerseys arrived!!!  I had one very happy little girl.
We cannot wait to see her out on the field.  She's going to be a force!

A Little Murphy Magic

Basketball season is in full swing!  These girls are 6-1 and their last game is coming up this weekend.  They are so much fun to watch!
All but one go to school together, and that's one of my favorite things about this team.  I love that Lila gets to play with all of her best friends.

This year we had shooting shirts made for the girls.
They look so official as they are warming up for each game.

Game face!
Most of the games are pretty physical, but this one was at the top of the list.

Lila came in for the second quarter and tried her best.
She had a challenge on her hands, that's for sure!

"And then, did you see what she did?!"

Get it girl.

There were a few injuries, a few tears.  Lila was there to make sure that Lauren was going to be alright.  Her sweetness shines through...

but her toughness does, too!

This kid does not back down.  She said, "I just looked her in her big brown eyes and thought, you are not taking this ball from me!"

The Murphy Magic won 15-10 and kept their spot as the second place team.  Their final game is this weekend and you can bet I'll be on the front row, cheering for #18.

January Favorites

Highlights from the first month of the year:

Ice Skating at the Galleria!

When we were in NYC, we promised the girls that we would take them ice skating back in Texas.  We made good on that promise a few weeks ago and some of the sisters even tagged along for the fun.

Silly faces with my sidekick,

big smiles from both my girls at our neighborhood park...

while big brother played nuke 'em in shorts with his friends.

Dad's Derby Night was a huge highlight for Cami!  Their car, Ro-Cart, won lots of races at this dads-only event.

And after watching her siblings get a couple pajama days at their school, it was finally her turn!  This little nut was so happy.

Smiling from ear to ear!

Jackson got to sit court-side at the Harlem Globetrotters with two of his best buds, Corbin and Caleb.  He loved the show and came home with a new Globetrotters jersey and basketball, signed by many of the players.  Very cool.

And finally, the month would not be complete without a selfie from the littlest Queen Bee.
This kid cracks us up.

Baby Love

Baby Connor is almost here!  How do we know?
Well, for starters, we went to two baby showers for him a few weeks ago!

The first one was given by Shelley's friends.  We love any reason to get all fancied up.
These adorable baby animal cookies were a huge hit.  Connor's mommy is so talented!

Cami was Lyndsie's number one helper with opening her baby gifts.  We got cousin Connor this precious little outfit...

and gave him so many well-loved books from our house.

Cami was excited about giving him lots of her books, but when this giraffe made it's appearance, it stole the show!

A few other highlights included drinking punch from fancy glass cups...

and petting Bev's dog.  When I asked what she was doing, she replied in a hushed whisper, "I'm trying to get this dog off of their furniture."  The dog didn't so much listen to her, but I assured her that he was fine!
I enjoyed an afternoon full of baby talk with my favorite girls.

The next morning, the Hays ladies were at it again.  The theme of this shower was "Baby, it's cold outside!"  They did such a fantastic job with all of the brunch items.

And more fabulous cookies were front and center.

My girls enjoyed their french toast, fruit and eggs...

and especially loved playing with all of the babies!
There was a room full of them!

Miss Cami is most definitely not a baby anymore!

My baby days are long gone, but I've still got plenty of helpful tips to share with Lyndsie.

Baby Connor will have so many friends right around his age.

The girls helped Aunt Lyndsie open lots of gifts, including this monogrammed blanket from us.

Cheers to so many adorable things for Baby Connor!
