Happy for the Holidays!

These two are crazy about each other!

Their Christmas jammies came in the mail today. Big sister was napping, but we just had to try them on. I can't wait to see all three of them on Christmas morning!

Crazy-haired Cowboy

This week was another themed week at school.  I know, hard to believe!  Each day the kids got to do different things as long as they brought 4 cans of food to donate.  Today was crazy hair day.

For some reason, it was also "Western Day," though, so we had a pretty wacky looking cowboy leave our house this morning.  Wonder if this hair-do will distract the other kids during Monster Square Dancing.  Ha!

His Mohawk took a little longer than expected, so he missed the bus.  And since he didn't have a horse, either, it's a good thing his daddy was able to take him in his brand new truck!  Yeehaw!

Turkey Time at School

Lila has waited at least three years to be able to have the Thanksgiving Feast at her school, and yesterday it finally happened! This is a privilege that only the oldest kids get to have, so it's special.

The kids all worked so hard last week, making their placemats, headbands, necklaces and vests.  They turned out so cute, too.

Keeping it real, the "tables" were on the floor, and we sat Indian Style for lunch.

Our feast was probably a little tastier than the Pilgrims was-- we had turkey, mashed taters, green bean casserole, cinnamon apples and cookies for dessert. Yum!  I was thankful that Gigi could keep Cami so that I could give this girl my full attention.

And both of us girls were thankful that Daddy could make it, too.

After lunch, the tables got cleaned up and the kids lined up for their performance.  They did three precious songs and Lila was all smiles.

Gettin' their Gobble on!  We can't wait for Turkey Day!

Look Who's Crawling!

It might have taken 10 months and 4 days, but really, who's counting?
As of yesterday, this little 10 month old is a crawler!!

She did it for sister first--one of many memories that they will share:)

No more pillow forts on sister's bed.

Watch out, world.  Here comes double trouble!

Nothing sweeter

Is there anything sweeter than waking up to this baby girl?

Not in my world.

End-of-Season Games and Parties

Tuesday night was the end-of-season league tournament for the Dallas Wildcats.

This is how Lila felt about it.  She fell asleep while waiting for me to finish feeding Cameron.

And never opened her eyes when I loaded her into the minivan to go cheer them on.  The girl was T-I-R-E-D.  The game didn't start until a little after 8pm, but I just couldn't miss it.  So, she had a good hour nap and then woke up at 8 and went to watch her big brother.  The game didn't go so well, but J played good and we were proud of him.  Hopefully their team will do better in the spring!  We are used to winning more often than not, so this season hasn't been the best.
Oh well, at least we had this happy baby girl in the stands to keep things light-hearted:)
The next night, the Wildcats went to Country Burger for their party.

It was good seeing everyone outside of the baseball fields and getting to visit with their parents.  The boys had a blast.

A few days later, after the cold front had come in, we were at Lila's last soccer game.
It was 39 degrees and windy--brrrr!  The kids enjoyed their donut holes that Henlee's mom brought...

and were especially happy that Chester, the class mascot, was able to attend the game, too.

The Bumblebees played great!  Go Lila!

They have really improved all season long--so neat to see.

"You? Me? You? Me?"

Lila almost scored two times and even hit the post, but it didn't bounce in.  Shoot!

After winning big, they got their trophies from Coach Clay.  Way to go, Bees!

This was one proud little girl!

Our shining star

This little girl earned being named Star Student at school for the second week in a row!
Her daddy and I are so proud of her big accomplishment!

Two times! Oh yeah! She is proud, too, and I love that. As she said, "My teacher gives us a sticker whenever she sees us doing the right thing. Sometimes she has to take stickers away, but not from me, because I always do the right thing, mom." Cheers to that, little girl!

What a wonderful example you are, Lila, for your baby sister.  Way to go!
