Happy Birthday, Sweet Cami!

How in the world did you get to be a year old?  I have no idea.  It really seems to have happened in the flash of an eye some days.
You woke up all smiles and were so very happy to see this enormous birthday cupcake balloon that had been tied to your highchair.

Then you even humored me and your sister by wearing this birthday hat for a few seconds!

"I'm not really digging this strap around my chin, mom."  We played with you after breakfast and then thought you were tuckered out enough for a nap.  Wrong!  After an early lunch and a little fit, you finally settled down in your crib for a much needed nap.  Lila and I got busy making your birthday cupcakes, but you woke up before we even got them all baked!  We took a timeout from baking and got you ready for the day.

I'm kinda sad, too--this is the last sticker and it says "1 Year."  Sniff.  Oh my sweet child, you are growing up so very quickly.  We adore your precious smile...

and can't get enough of your giggles.

You've learned to pull up on everything and can see so much more this way.

Take a seat!

You've also started wearing shoes--and I just love these.

One going on five:)

You do not like Lila or Jackson to hold you, but you'll play with them any day of the week!

"I can sit like a big girl, thank you very much."

Two peas in a pod.

After a long hour of basketball practice with a very tired one year old, we made it home, ate dinner and then sang Happy Birthday to Cami.  Jackson tried to show her how to blow out her candle,

but when she didn't take the hint, he and his sister took matters into their own hands.

We gave her a few presents--she loves these new people for her VTech house,

but mostly enjoyed pulling out all of the tissue paper!

Happy Birthday, Cameron Nicole Hays!  We love you to the moon and back.  A thousand times.

Cami's Birthday Photo Shoot

It's only once that your baby turns one!  Yes, friends, it has indeed been a whole year since we checked into the hospital and knew that we'd get to meet this angel baby very soon.  What we didn't know was just how much we would love her.  It's safe to say that she's stolen our hearts.  My friend, Jennifer, at Haute Shot Photography did her pictures the other morning.  We had so much fun dressing up Cami in sweet dresses and tutus.  It was a total girly morning and I loved it.  I think she got some great shots--these are my faves.

Needless to say, the kid loves cake!  She is so ready for her big day and we can't wait to celebrate with her.  My baby will be ONE tomorrow!  How in the world did that happen so fast?

Dad's Derby Night

These two love a good Derby car race. Lila woke up so excited about tonight--it was too cute.

Dad came home early from work so that they could go back up to school
and build The Speedy Squirrel.

Lila was thrilled that the Squirrel won three times.

Such a fun night for these two!

Happy Birthday, Gigi!

We celebrated Gigi a day early with a birthday party at her house.  All the usual suspects were there, and we even had a special guest, too--Papaw!
We had lasagna, Caesar salad and bread from Carrabba's for lunch.  Everything was so good.

Then it was time to light the candles for the cake.  I think Gigi was thankful that we didn't put 61 of them on there!

The three big grandkids helped her blow out the candles.  Good thing, too, because those were some trick candles that kept sparking back up.

Gigi's party also coincided with the Cowboys playoff game.  This little cheerleader was trying so hard to help them pull off a win in Green Bay.

We had lots of Romo and Murray love, but it wasn't enough to reverse a really bad call by the officiating crew.  The refs took away a catch made by Dez Bryant and our Cowboys lost the game 25-21.  Boo!

These two didn't really seem to mind, though!

Happy Birthday, Mom!  You are the best.  We love you!

Closing out 2014

The day after Christmas, we got together with some of our best friends.  Jenny, Taylor, Megan and I have all been friends since we first started cheering together in high school.  That was 20 years ago!

We have remained close and now have a whole new generation of little ones that will hopefully grow up as friends, too.  I love it.  One day Dylan will be big enough to run around with Jackson, but until then, J is gonna be pretty outnumbered!

J didn't really want to play "press on nails" with the girls, but they loved it!

Thank goodness Presley suggested they play cards with the big boys.  Jackson had such a great night.  Any time he gets to hang out with daddy and Mr. Price is a big win in his book!
The few days after our party, Lila, Daddo and Cami were all hit pretty hard with sinus infections.  We didn't really think it was a good time to hit the town, so we just had a low key night for NYE.  And ya know what?  It was all good!  We went to Frankie's for dinner with my parents and Maddie and then they all came back to our house for a little while.

We even found some party hats and a few festive decorations...

and everyone got in the spirit.

I think baby girl had a good time celebrating her first New Year's Eve.

Fabulous in 2015!  That's our motto.
