2 Months!

March 15, 2014.  Happy 2 months, Baby Cami! 

We had a little photo shoot to mark this special day.

We found this cutie patootie pink outfit, complete with a bubble skirt, and just knew it was the perfect outfit for the occasion.

Cameron has really started flashing her sweet smile much, much more, and we love it!

Of course, she's got her serious side, too:)

And then she can melt your heart by showing you her precious dimple. 

She's growing so much.  "Look how big I am now!"

She's got great head control, too, and had no problem sitting in this chair.

Sister and brother both wanted in on the action, too!  We are becoming a really good team, I think.  They help me out so much with Cameron and it does not go unnoticed.  The other night we were walking into El Fenix.  I was carrying Cami in the carseat, Lila had my purse and Jackson had the diaper bag.  Between the three of us, we get it done!

She thinks that they are pretty cool, too.  Happy 2 months, baby girl.

3 Going on 13

So proud that she got to hold Cami standing up!

Lila is only 3 years old, but is working really hard to be all grown up.  The other night this was the scene in our house.  We had just gotten home from baseball practice and it was getting late.  I was trying very hard to get dinner on the stove and Cami was ready to eat.  Lila was trying her best to soothe a cranky baby and she said, "Mom, she's just hungry."  I know, Lila, I know.  I'm hurrying.  Then she looked at me and serious as a heart attack said, "how bout you just pump out some milk and I'll feed it to her in a bottle--ok?"  And she would have!  Soon after that she walked into the kitchen carrying a diaper and said, "I changed Cami's diaper," and had the biggest grin on her face.  Forget the fact that Cami was now chillin' with a bare bottom--you gotta commend her big sister for doing her best.  A few minutes later, I sat down to feed Cameron and the oven timer started going off.  Lila hopped up and said, "don't worry, mom, I got it.  I can just put those things on my hands and get that pan out of the oven."  Oh child, thank you, but I don't think we're quite ready for that!  So glad I've got such an eager helper, though.

Spring Break Staycation

Yes, a staycation.  And it's been awesome!  We have really enjoyed just relaxing around here all week long.  Since the time changed last weekend, we've been staying up later and here's the best part--sleeping in!  I've slept as late as 9:00 and so have my girls!  It's been wonderful.  I'm not sure how we're going to make it to school on time this next week, but we'll worry about that on Monday morning.  For now, I will just bask in the greatness of waking up with my three-year old snuggled into me. 

 

Spring Break Staycation Recap:

 

We kicked off Spring Break with a little fiesta for Maria's birthday.  A great night, filled with fajitas and Luna de Noche margaritas!

On Monday, we took all three girls to the ranch.  Jackson stayed with Memaw and went on a shopping spree at Academy.  When I got home that night, he had just gotten back from dinner.  He was sporting a sweatband, two arm bands, his Texas Rangers hat and sunglasses, too.  Such a goofy kid.  He enjoyed his time with Memaw and Poppi so much that he asked to spend the night and since it's Spring Break, I said "sure!"

Amanda and her boys came to visit on Tuesday.  She finally got to meet Cami and the boys had a blast playing football, basketball and Xbox.

Wednesday was a pretty slow day, but the kids really enjoyed playing together.  They even got into Lila's makeup and made each other rock stars.  Rock on, J man! 

On a whim, I decided to take the kids to Clyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas that night.  We had never been, it was a pretty evening, and I just wanted to do something different.  Our friends, John, Kim and Henry Duncan met us there, too, which made it even better.  They had really cool play structures and my monkeys had no trouble getting to the top.  Monkey see...

monkey do!  She got up almost as high as he did!

He kept getting higher and higher and asking me to take his picture!

The kids slid down the grassy hills, played tag in the park and then we climbed the steps to the top of this tree house.

If you look closely over J's right shoulder, you can see the cars on the highway going underneath the park.  Way cool!  We ended our fun night with dinner at El Fenix and declared our adventure a big success.

Thursday morning the fun just kept coming.  We met Gigi, Maddie and Andie at the movies.  We saw Mr. Peabody and Sherman--such a great movie for both kids and adults!

We picked up Cami from Memaw's house and then met everyone at Schell Elementary to play for a while.  The girls did the monkey bars and slides...

and Jackson played lots of basketball.  He challenged Andie and Gigi to a game and still beat them.  The kid might be a tad bit competitive. 

That evening, J went with Gigi to take Andie back up to Papaw and Granny's farm.  They let him do all kinds of fun things, like climb this tree (oh, my that's high!)...

 

 

and visit with the donkeys.  He had a ball.

 

 

And somehow we ended up at the end of the week already!  We met a few of his baseball buddies at Top Golf this morning.  Here's the Fearsome Foursome.

Everyone had a really great afternoon.  The boys loved playing golf and goofing around and I really enjoyed hanging out with Julie and Shannon.  We weren't ready for the fun to end, so we went to Cold Stone for ice cream after the games were over.  A little cinnamon ice cream is never a bad plan, if you ask me.

While we were gone, the girls were giving Gigi plenty of help with Baby Cameron.  Maddie got to practice her diaper changing skills...

and then got an A plus for giving Cami her bottle.  They said she drank every last drop--all 6 oz!

2014 Spring Break, you've been so nice.  I will savor you for the last few days:)

Cowgirl Cami & Co.

We took all three girls up to the ranch yesterday and just had the best time.  It was Cameron's first time there and she loved it.  Our day began with the horses.  Maddie rode Doc with Boom Pa, while I led Lila around on Princess.

Both girls did so good, too!  They are pretty fearless.

At first, we thought that Cami was going to miss out on all the fun, but she woke up in time to see the big girls.

 

They were having so much fun that Baby Cami even wanted a turn.  We told her that she wasn't quite ready for a trail ride yet, so she settled for just sitting in the saddle with Boom.

I had made many laps around the arena, so Boom hitched Princess up to his horse and led them around a few more times.

"Hi Mom!"  Lila was in her element.

After an hour, Maddie was feeling so confident that she was begging Gigi to let go of the reigns.  Go girl!

Sweet girl loved watching everything and just being outside.

After all that excitement it was time to go see the cows.  These two buckled up in the back of the Ranger and we headed out.

We got to see all of them, including the calf that was born the same week as Cameron.  Check out the #1 mama cow on the left side of this picture.  She was the protector and took her job very seriously!  Thank goodness a baby and I aren't too intimidating.  Mama Cow did charge a random dog, though, and I was so afraid she was going to get him!  Who knew that cows are both aggressive and fast?  Lesson learned--do not mess with the Mama Cow!

 

It was the perfect afternoon at the ranch.  Thank you, Gigi and Boom, for a great first day of Spring Break.  We had a ball!

Accessorize Yourself

The kids got to stay home today because of another ice storm.  On Sunday afternoon it was raining ice, sleet, whatever, and was cold!  I think it got down to 12 degrees or something silly like that.  School got canceled and we were stuck inside all day.  What's a girl to do when that happens?  Try out her best cold weather gear, I suppose!

"I'm pretty sure I just saw Baby North wearing this in People Magazine, Mom!"

Of course, she's got the boots to match, too.  Thanks, Memaw!

By the afternoon, all the ice was melted, so Maddie came over to play.  These two loved playing together and had the best chat over hot chocolate.  Pretty sure they were discussing Madison's fly girl hat.  "Yo, yo, yo!"

By the end of the day this mama had had enough of all the indoor craziness
and needed to get O-U-T.  Cami agreed that although she would probably sleep through dinner, she really needed to wear her headband and awesome black furry boots!  Thanks, Aunt Hayley!!  She was the best dressed baby in the Wylie Chili's:)

The Little Mermaid

Sunday afternoon Daddy and his favorite three year old went on a very exciting date.  He bought them tickets to see Ariel, Flounder and Sebastien at The Little Mermaid at Fair Park!

My, oh my, was this little girl excited.  She picked out her clothes and dressed herself, then asked me to paint her fingernails and curl her hair.  She opted for lunch at home before they left--such a low maintenance date!  Daddy said she was asleep before they got to the highway.  Always a good plan to get your nap in before the show starts!

We got a few updates at intermission and then daddy sent this sweet picture.  So, so precious!  They both really enjoyed the show and Lila loved spending time with her daddy.  She came home and told us all about the characters, who sang the best and who was the funniest.  Love it.

Helping Hands

We've got all hands on deck around here and it's a good thing!  We most definitely need it!

 

Lila tried her hand at burping Cami.  She's not half bad at it, either.  Thanks, big sister.

Everyone's hands were clapping quite a bit on Saturday for Maddie Mae.  She scored two goals in the Cheetah Girls' opening game and they won really big.  Yeah, Maddie!!

Cami's three cousins came to visit us after the game on Saturday.  Hannah Banana was the first one to lend a hand and hold her.

And she wasn't the only one who wanted a turn with this little girlie--Bella got to try her her hand at holding a new baby, too.  They both did great!

Shelly got to hold Cami for a few minutes, but no more.  The girls always wanted "one more turn!"

 

That night, Jared and I went to a couples only party with all the other Cubs parents.  We enjoyed ourselves so much and getting this sweet picture made it even better.  We knew Cami was in good hands with her big brother.  So sweet!



 

Speaking of big brother, this was what I saw when I stepped away from Cameron and asked Jackson to just talk to her.  "Look mom, I can pick her up!"  And yes, those are eye blacks that he wore all day on Sunday.  They say "Go Cubs."  Think he's ready for baseball??  Better get my hands ready for lots of clapping, cause we love cheering for #32 and his teammates.
