Super-sized fan club!

The Cubs began their quest for the tee-ball championship trophy on Tuesday night.
Our favorite player, #32, had lots of fans come out to support him.

The two girls had front row seats for all of the action...

and Gigi and I got to sport our new Cubs t-shirts.  I love them!  They have 32s on the back, too!

Just look at his fan base?  Poppi was out of the picture, but he was there, along with Memaw, Gigi, Granny, Papaw, Boom, Daddy and the girls.  I love it that our ball player has such loyals fans.  We are all ready to cheer him on again tonight.  The Cubs are still undefeated--let's hope we keep it that way!

Meet the Fam

Uncle Andrew got engaged a few months ago his super-sweet girlfriend, Maria.  Yay!!  We are so very excited to have her join our family.

Last weekend we had a swim party and got to meet her whole family.  The kids had a blast playing together (she's got a 3 year old neice, 7 year old nephew and 8 year old sister) and we loved hanging out with everyone.

Uncle Andrew was a trooper and braved the cold waters to swim with the kids.  Think he may have been trying to score some points with his in-laws to-be?!  If so, I'd say he earned every one!

Shower date

Last weekend my sweet baby girl got to attend her first wedding shower.  She was so well behaved and I was so proud to have her there with me.

I'm looking forward to more mother/daughter events with this cutie patootie!

Undefeated!

Jackson's spring t-ball team.  Aren't they so cute?  J man is in the middle on the front row. We have loved every second of cheering them on this season.  They are a great group of rough and tumble little boys.

The Chicago Cubs went undefeated this season and finished 11 - 0.  It came down to the wire, though!  In yesterdays game, Jackson hit a double to bring in the tying run.  His school buddy, Cole, hit a grounder to third on the next play and J took off running to 3rd base because his coach sent him.  He really should have been tagged out, but he shimmied and moved his hips just out of reach of their 3rd baseman, so he was safe!  The next batter up got a hit and Jackson took off for home and then he crossed home plate to score the winning run.  The Cubs won 15 - 14! The game went 1 minute over the alloted time, though, so the other coach started to contest it.  The umpire said the game was called fair and we had won.  Oh, the intensity of t-ball!  Their tournament starts this Tuesday night and they will begin their quest to play in the Wylie Tee Ball World Series.  Go Cubs!

We ordered baseball trading cards of our favorite baseball player.  Needless to say, we love them!  I know I'm a bit partial, but I think this is just so darn cute.

On the back it lists all of his stats.  Love it!  He's got 12 cards and can't wait to give them out to all of his fans.  I just hope there are enough to go around.  He's got lots of peeps.

The pool is open!

May 17th, 2012.  First day in the pool!

These three were beyond excited about kicking off swim season.

Maddie went down the slide a few times, but not fast enough to go into the water.  She was a little anxious about it and really wanted an adult in there.  We told her that adults' skin is just more sensitive and we just couldn't risk hypothermia.

They went down the slide a few times and just scaled some rocks to get out of actually swimming across the pool for a while.

Meanwhile, this little bathing beauty was enjoying herself immensely in the baby pool.  She loved it practicing her floating skills and putting her face down in the water.  She also loved pouring water all over her dear mother.  She was especially entertained when she got a few screams out of me after pouring really cold water on my back!

After a while, Jackson decided to brave the big pool.  He didn't put his head under, "because I don't have any goggles, mom," but he did great swimming across the pool.

Then Gigi fished out these noodles and one float and they were set.  Big smiles and lots of splashes all around.  We are ready for summer, no doubt.

These hands...

Four generations of us girls. I've always heard that you and your mother have the same hands.  The other day I was reading a book to Lila and she put her sweet little hand on mine.
I was struck at how similar they looked.

Since we had all four generations at our house yesterday, we tried to capture this sweet sight.
I'm pretty sure it's a picture I will treasure the rest of my life.

Mother's Day 2012

We started off the day with a bang at our house.  The kids and my sweet hubby got me this bike for Mother's Day!  How the kids kept a secret like this, I'll never know.

The newest bicycle gang in Murphy, Texas.

We are a force!

After a quick spin around the block, we got back to work on our brunch.  Soon after, I was ready to toast my mama.  We had a fabulous meal and then enjoyed playing the Wii with everyone.

Even though it was Mother's Day, Lila was all about her daddy.  She just climbed up in his lap and snuggled until she melted his heart.  Completely.

After hanging out indoors, we went back out to ride bikes.  Boom took my bike for a spin...

and Gigi did, too.  Thank goodness nobody crashed!

But the best kodak moment was when Gigi rode Jackson's hot wheels bike!

Meme was there, too, and got to watch all of the shenanigans from the shade.  After riding bikes, we went out back and played ball.  Lots and lots of ball.  After an hour I think even #32 was worn out.
I know his mama was.

After both girls napped and the rest of us just chilled, we headed over to Memaw and Poppi's for an afternoon celebration.  The girls immediately ran to the treehouse and asked Memaw to join them.

These two bopsy twins even went down the slide together.  Lila said it was, "so fun, mom!"

While the girls were sliding, J was playing more ball.  He even blew out a flip-flop, but that didn't slow him down a bit.

All the Hays boys treated us so well.
They grilled chicken, sausage and corn and everything was wonderful.

These two hungry bears were being so sweet with one another.
My wish was for them to all get along on Mother's Day and I got it!

After dinner, we dined on some fabulous cupcakes.  Aunt Lyndsie handled the baking duties and made tiramisu and chocolate cupcakes.  They were divine.

Before our baseball game began, I snapped a shot of Mama Hays and all of her boys.
She did a good job with these three.  My hat is off to her.

We had just enough time to squeeze in a little ball before we had to leave for the night.
It was a great way to end a really great day.  Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who helped make it so special.  I felt the love!
