Tummy Time

Lila is such a content little baby. Tummy time? Sure!

"That's cool by me."

Of course, she's also just as stoked about lying on her back. Hallelujah for this easy baby!

Farmer Jack

This past Wednesday was Farmer day at Jackson's school. They asked for the kids to dress up like a farmer or farm animal. We opted for the much easier farmer.

He does look cute, if I do say so myself. We walked into school with him singing, "Old McJackson had a farm E-I-E-I-O!" Such a goose.

Happy Mother's Day!

This weekend we had lots of fun celebrating Mother's Day. On Saturday my mom and I went to Breadwinners for brunch and then got our nails done. We do get to see each other a lot, but rarely without kids. This was such a treat! Yesterday my two favorite guys treated me to donuts and starbucks in the morning and then Jackson, mom and I went to church. Afterwards, we came home for a yummy lunch from Babe's with Boom, Jared and Miss Lila.

Jackson's idea on what we should do for the picture.
Doesn't my mom look fab?!

Sweet boy

Daddo said something funny and got J to really smile:)

Finally my sweet baby girl woke up, was happy AND let me put a bow in her hair! Such a little doll. So precious.

During the afternoon Jared and Jackson were hard at work. They worked in the kitchen for a good hour and a half--Jackson helping the whole time on his step stool--making a corn casserole and dessert. We went over to Memaw and Poppy's house for dinner and had delicious cheeseburgers grilled by my hubby. The guys did such a good job at making us feel appreciated. They even bought some wine for the evening. Very nice. Thank you!

I feel so honored to be Jackson and Lila's mom. It is hard work, no doubt about that, but they have brought us so much joy and are worth every stressful moment and sleepless night.

I hope everyone had a fun mother's day and felt the love big time!

1 month old

Hard to believe, but Lila is one month old today. I have a feeling I'm going to be saying the same thing a year from now. Time really does fly once you have kids. My mom was so right.

To commemorate this big day, I told Lila we needed to snap some pics. I picked her out a coordinating bow for the occasion and you can just see what a big hit that was. She may not be a girly girl, but I'm not going to give up just yet!

See how much happier she was without it on? Oh well.

Also hard to imagine that she will be a toddler very soon--Jackson looks so huge to me here!

Pretending to be asleep just like baby sister.

Pursing those sweet little lips...

and finally looking at the camera! I was so stoked to get this pic--she is one tough cookie to photograph. Happy 1 month birthday, Lila Grace. We love you!

Sunday afternoon

This past Sunday afternoon was such a treat. Jackson decided to help his dad out with some yardwork, which was weed pulling this day...

the kid loves anything that involves work!

Then he moved on to cleaning the pool. I doubt we'll ever need to hire a pool man.

While they were outside, Lila and I hung out inside for the most part. During her nap I did come outside to read some in my book. In my shorts! And I got some sun on my lily white legs and arms. Hallelujah!

Lila's newborn photo shoot

When Lila was a mere 6 days old, we went over to Taylor's house for her newborn photo shoot. She did so well and Taylor was able to get lots of great pics. As a mom who had a boy the first time, I adored getting to dress her up--tutus, bows and all! Here's her deliciously sweet birth announcement.

You can check out all of her pictures at Taylor's website: www.tpointer.photobiz.com/cart. The password is lila. Thanks again, Taylor for all of these wonderful pictures. We will cherish them.

Housebound no more!

Hooray! Yesterday we ended our housebound stint and attended a small get-together at a neighbor's house. We were able to get ready and leave the house only 5 minutes late!

Jackson wanted to take this doll with us, but I told him I thought that baby could stay at home. He usually picks a different stuffed animal every few days to tote around and this one was it yesterday. I'm all for raising a sensitive male, but I gotta draw the line at taking baby dolls out in public!

When I told him that the baby couldn't go, he put her down and picked up this car.
Much better! The four boys played so well together. We look forward to lots of outings this summer:)
