Daddy Day

Father's Day 2014 Highlights:
Lila's sweet hugs melt her daddy's heart every single time.

He thinks this kid is pretty neat, too.

And he just loves it when this bathing beauty lets him hold her:)

We kicked off Father's Day with a pool party at Gigi and Boom's house.  Papaw was there, so we had three generations of fathers to celebrate.

We dined on lasagna, salad and garlic rolls from A Taste of Italy and Cami got to see what it was like to be a big girl and sit in a high chair.  She thought it was so cool!  Guess her mama should go buy one soon:)

After lunch, the kids couldn't wait one more second and announced that it was time to get in the pool.  His cup runneth over with love from these rascals.

They are very...

very...

goofy, too!  Lila's thriller poses crack me up.

This summer there is no fear of the water.  Maddie asked me to get her in mid-air throwing the peace sign.

And after pretending to just want a picture with his daddy, Jackson pushed Jared in the pool.  Ha!  I was too busy laughing to get it on film.

This was my 34th Father's Day to spend with my dad.  It also happened to be his birthday.
 Big Day for Boom Pa!

We did lots of swimming...

a little lounging...

and there was plenty of jumping, too.

Gigi took care of Cameron while I swam with Lila and Maddie for a little while.  It takes a village, people!

This girl was ALL smiles standing so tall on her dad's shoulders.

Not to be outdone, the big kids got their turn, too.

Then Jackson leapt off like a flying squirrel!

That prompted Boom to see if he could still make the kids fly.  It was my favorite trick to do with him when I was their age.  I'd stand on his shoulders, like this, and he'd go under water.  Then he'd bounce three times, shoot up out of the water and I'd go sky high.  So much fun.

Jackson went pretty high the first time, but when I told him that I went higher back in the day, he asked Boom for another turn!  The kid is just a tad competitive.

This time he soared with confidence...

even striking a pose in mid-air!  Sweet, dude!

Then it was time for birthday cake.  The birthday boy asked for a German chocolate cake.  When Lila saw it she said, "is that oatmeal on the cake?!"

Sweet Cami didn't get any oatmeal cake, but she did take a great poolside nap, and got to swim in the hot tub afterwards.  It was about 94 degrees, just like her bath water, and perfect for both of us!

About an hour later we arrived at our next pool party.  Poppi was happy to have all his boys there...

and they even managed to catch a big fish, too!

It was a pretty night to be outside and both of the uncles took care of grilling burgers for Daddy and Poppi.

We had a delicious dinner, Cami took another poolside nap, and then these brave people got back in the pool!

Jackson got to show off his new trick.  Ready...set...

fly high, Super Man!

Lila wasn't ready for such dare-devil tricks, but she did have some good belly laughs with her #1 Daddo.

And this guy ended the night with cementing his status as the high-flyer of the day.

Happy Father's Day, everyone!  We enjoyed celebrating with all of you.
