Fury Baseball

Baseball season is over.  Until February!  The Fury wrapped up their season yesterday.  They have come such a long way in a really short time.  After only a few tournaments this fall, they won in Triple Creek and got bumped up to AAA baseball.  The competition got a little more stout, but these kids hung in there every time.
Jackson has loved learning third base and short stop.

We also got a new kid who is one heckuva catcher--J especially likes when he pitches to Connor.

This girl has been a really good sport on always cheering for her big brother.
It amazes me how much she has absorbed about baseball, too!

We loved getting to play at Big League Dreams in Mansfield.

Even with the ball coming in so close, the kid still didn't slide!  Thank goodness he was safe!

Gigi was a HUGE help with Cameron this season.  She usually ran back and forth between me and her Gigi.  That smile says it all--she adores her.  I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual.

All of us enjoyed watching Jackson improve this season as a pitcher.  He handled the pressure so well and did his job on the mound, showing his coaches and teammates that they could always count on him.

The kid can bring the heat!

I love watching this boy play his favorite sport.  Love it.  We were still in Mexico this Saturday for the first two games of the State Tournament.  He never pitches on Saturday, though, so he told me it wasn't a big deal.  But alas, his coach changed his mind and Jackson was the starting pitcher for the first game.  We were getting game updates as we were packing to come home and I actually had tears in my eyes because I couldn't stand not being there for him.  He did awesome, holding the team to one run, though!

The Fury boys won that game and I got this picture as we were almost to the airport.
Jackson's smile is so big--he was pumped and so were we!

The boys lost early on Sunday and that was the end of their season. It's been full of ups and downs and we really love the families who we have gotten to know.  So many great people and fantastic coaches, too!  We will be ready to play ball again his spring, but I will enjoy my Friday nights and weekends doing other things until then!

Bumblebee Soccer

The Bumblebees played their final game of the season yesterday.  They were tied 2-2, but a late goal put them down by 1.  That's ok.  These girls tried their best!
Especially #12!

I can't really say there was as good of an effort to get all the players to team pictures, but half of them made it!  Oh well.  These 6 sure are precious.

Lila Lou loved her daddy coaching the Bees this season.  She listened to everything he tried to teach her and is a better soccer player for sure now.

A few highlights from the season--warm-ups a few weeks ago

Brooklyn as the Keeper and Lila as a Defender--a solid combo!

Little Lila really is a force on the field:)

Teaghan improved so much...

and Malee was much more focused this season.

Brooklyn always had a nose for the goal and wasn't going to be pushed around!

"I got this!"

Coach Jared giving them pointers for the second half and telling them to keep up their hard work.

Let's go Bees!

Madison was our top goal scorer this season, getting around 3 a game!  She is amazing!

Lila scored a few this season...

and started to really improve her footwork.

She zipped right around that big girl...

took the ball, shot and scored!

What a great season!

Halloween Pre-Parties

Since Lila didn't get to dress up at school this year, she was super-happy to be able to do it at dance class last week.  It got even more fun when she learned it was "bring a friend week" too.

Elise, Lila, Brooklynn and Payton--these little blondies had a great time tapping and jazzing it up.
I love it that Payton even brought her broom to class, too!

On Friday, J was pumped to go to Blake's Halloween Bash.  It was raining and dreary outside, but these boys didn't mind one bit.

Blake's mom had so many cool things for them to do, like drinking the Dry Ice Punch...

The whole afternoon was a huge hit with all of his school buddies.

And finally, Cameron got an early Halloween treat too.  Gizmo let her pet him!

I think the cat probably just got tired of being chased, but he was surprisingly cooperative.
Cami would tell him, "sit here" and he'd do it.  Then she'd smile really big and pet his back.
This kid may or may not be totally obsessed with Gizmo.

Halloween 2015

We started on Friday night and carried the fun all the way through the whole weekend.  First up, Jared and I had a 40th Birthday Surprise Costume Party.  We thought long and hard about what we should be and decided our best plan of action would be to go as The Jenners!

We had to spice it up, though, so Jared went at Caitlyn...

and I went as Bruce.  Happy Halloween from The Jenners!

There were lots of good costumes, but one of my favorites was Richard Simmons!
Carlos was one of the birthday boys and made the perfect Richard!  HA!
Caitlyn and the two birthday boys--Richard and Nacho Libre!  They were all so great.

It was a fun night hanging out with these Cubs mamas.  We spent so many days and nights at the ballfields--love them!
The next day it was time for the kiddos to get in on the fun.  While Cameron slept, I did this movie star's hair and makeup.  She loved every second of it.

Presenting Movie Star Lila!

Jackson didn't have to work too hard to transform into Tony Romo.   He did love his authentic football pants with pads in them--very cool.  His #1 Cheerleader put up quite a fight while she was being squeezed into her uniform, though.  She kept hollering, "tight!"
I told her, beauty isn't easy.

By 3:15 they were all dressed and looking good.

"Let's go get some candy!"

First stop - Meme's house.  We saw Papaw, Madison and Aunt Colleen there, too.  It's been a long time since Meme has given out candy.  We were so happy that Papaw had volunteered to go help her out with that this year.

The cutest black cat I ever did see!

Next stop - Memaw and Poppi's house.  Trick or treat!

The kids picked out their candy and then went to find Pete the Cat.

Thanks for the goodies, but we gotta keep going!

Third stop - Gigi and Boom's house.  These kids were getting the hang of it by now.

"Big pumkin!"

We raced back home, re-curled the Movie Star's hair, and then hosted our street for a Halloween Block party.  There was a lot of food, plenty of kiddos and they were all very ready to go trick-or-treating.

Cameron and Bella were the two youngest this year.  So precious!

We set out to trick-or-treat with Cameron in the stroller.  Little did I know that it would be her big sister who would need a lift.  Poor Lila just didn't have any more gas in her tank.  She had stayed up late the night before and then been going non-stop all Saturday.  She made it to a few houses and then really started lagging behind.  We ended up turning around and coming back home.  While we were gone, Aunt Lyndsie and Uncle Scott had arrived from Fort Worth.  They were giving out candy to all the trick-or-treaters, so we rang the doorbell and surprised them.  I thought our movie star would want to give out candy, but she just didn't have it in her.  She was asleep by 8:30--I guess being famous really is hard work!  Jackson and his daddy got home around 8:45 and reported a very successful candy-getting night.  Hopefully next year all 5 of us can go together.

On Sunday, my sweet girly girl was reenergized and ready for a redo!  After church, she asked to put on her costume and for me to do her makeup, so I obliged.

It made both of us happy to see her enjoying her costume finally.  Better late than never!

Happy Halloween from our family to yours.  Hope everyone had a spooktacular night!
