It's turkey time! Unfortunately, half of Lila's class was out sick the day of their Thanksgiving feast. Lila just barely made the cut off--she didn't make it to school, but was able to go by lunchtime. Hooray!
| We met her class up and the kids dined on all of their favorites: chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, corn on the cob, fruit and some really good cookies. |
| Since she was sick earlier this week, she didn't get to make a fun feathery hat. Her sweet teacher let her borrow one from a classmate who didn't get to make it to the party. It brought that smile out a little bit:) |
| The whole lunch she was especially clingy and was very concerned about me leaving her there after the party. So, I was asked (begged) to sit at the table with her. Guess she wanted to pin me down and be sure I didn't sneak out! |
| Two little turkeys |
| The next day, it was time for Maddie's feast. She was so proud of her turkey placemat... |
| and very excited when she saw me and Lila. |
| We all ate on the floor because that's what the pilgrims and indians did on the first thanksgiving. Did anyone else miss that little tid bit in history class? Anyhoo, I'm pretty sure we could have all gotten the effect by eating at tables, but we survived! |
| After lunch, we were all treated to three songs. We loved 5 Fat Turkeys Are We... |
| but the Turkey Tango is still our favorite! |
| The excitement for thanksgiving is reaching a feverous pitch! Can you feel it?! |
