5 boys and a little lady

The Martinez Crew came over to our house for a playdate this week. We had such a great time hanging out with them and all of the kids were so well behaved. I was amazed at how calm it was!

This is the best group shot that I could get. Levi is such a cutie, but he did not want his picture taken! Miss Lila was so good for 90% of the day, but she was upset here....hence Jackson trying to figure out what was wrong with her.

The "big kids" played with lots of toys and then sat down for some lunch.

After the little ones all had their lunch, we did a little photo op. Monica was singing them a song in spanish. All three (Blaise, Lila and Simeon) were just mesmerized by it!

I cannot get over how long Lila is right now! We go for her 2 month check-up tomorrow, so I'll have some official stats then, but for now we think she's pretty tall. She was the same length as Simeon and he is 4 months old!

Big brother came out of the playroom and caught us doing the photo shoot. He skeedattled down the stairs and got right in on the action!

My sweet girl had so much fun with all of the boys.

Lila's coming out party

This past weekend, my sweet in-laws hosted a "Come over and meet Miss Lila" party. It was really nice and we had a great time introducing her to lots of wonderful people. This was my attempt at a family photo.

If you had any idea what Jackson was acting like (wild indian) you would be super impressed that we even caught him and got him to look in the direction of the camera.

My good friend Megan gave her these adorable slippers. I am in love with them!

Jackson and Jared's favorite part of the party was definitely the petit fours! The little guy literally devoured his!

I thought Shelley did such a great job with these. They are really too cute.

Guests had lots of Lila pics to look at and were asked to sign this wall hanging that's for her nursery.

Lila was so good during the whole party. She was held by so many people and was such a little sweetheart about the whole thing.

Madison was busy being a rascal with Jackson most of the time, but she did take a few seconds to kiss her baby cousin.

This was also a special day because Lila finally got to meet her other great grandpa.

Jackson and Maddie weren't really into socializing and carrying on with small talk...they much prefered riding around the house in this car. It's only a one seater, but J was determined to ride in it at the same time as her.

Lila was asleep during the first half of the party and sure did enjoy being rocked by Meme.

Gigi did her best to entertaining the two rugrats.

After a long day, Miss Lila was all worn out. She was still a happy camper, though:)

Thank you, thank you, thank you Memaw and Poppy for such a special day.

Summer has arrived!

So the change in seasons hasn't so much affected Lila...she's still content as ever to snooze through the afternoon.

The bigger rugrats are super excited, though, because the pools are open and summer is here!

"Are you ready to hit the water, Maddie?"

Oh yeah!

Pausing for a little pool conversation...

then zipping around the pool a little more.

What a great day!

Lovin' his baby sister

Jackson asked to hold Lila the other day and then said, "Hey mom, take our picture."

Since I am such a photo-crazy gal, this was music to my ears.

I'm sure it's just a phase, but I'm gonna take advantage of it while it lasts!

Preciousness

My baby is 8 weeks old now! If it's possible, she has gotten even more precious. Of course, I'm not biased or anything. Just see for yourself...

Such a doll. And sweet as sugar, too. How did I get so lucky?

Let's hit the pool!

Yesterday we hit the pool for the first time this summer. Lindsey and Chloe came over for a swim and we all had such a good time. Here are our two fish all ready for some fun in the sun.

It sure didn't take very long before they were going all over the pool.

After J's long swim, he was ready to see what all the hype was about with the floats.

I think our first day was a big success. Both kids worked up a big appetite and then Jackson fell asleep on the couch watching cartoons. Pretty much a perfect day.

Memorial Day Madness

The crew headed up to the lake this past weekend and had a blast. It was total chaos, don't get me wrong, but in a good sort of way! You know it's gonna be fun times when you start out with a hat like this...

Ha! Let's hope his real hair never gets this long!

It wasn't too long before we headed down to the lake...can you guess who loves a good golf cart ride?

The two munchkins were so ready for some fun in the sun

They started out by making sand castles, which was really more Jackson making the castle and Madison supervising. She was more concerned about staying properly hydrated.

Then the real test came--getting in the water. Great news! Both kids loved the water this year! Hallelujah! Last year we were so very disappointed when we got all the way over to the beach and Jackson wanted nothing to do with it.

This year both kids loved it--here's Maddie doing her favorite water activity...floating:) She did this for 20 minutes at a time!

Little Lila couldn't go for boat rides just yet, but she enjoyed being held by everyone. Aunt Glenda got some Lila time, but Gigi probably had the most!

Papaw's birthday was Sunday so he and Sharron came up for a celebration.

After we sang happy birthday to him I snapped a few more pics. I think this one is so sweet of J with his Gigi.

And this is pretty cute of Lila with her great grandpa.

After lunch it was time to hit the water again. We had two baby pools blown up at the house and the kids loved them. Jackson really liked how the dinosaur could spray everyone. Look out Maddie!

They did many rounds down the slide

and each time it was pure joy.

After so many rounds on the slide, the two big kids konked out for the afternoon. When they woke up it was time for a little baseball. My dad cracks me up in this pic-look closely, he's playing ball while holding a beer and babydoll.

I thought this just summed up the weekend. These two are having so much fun together these days. For some silly reason they set up their lawn chairs indoors to watch cartoons. Jackson also decided he still needed his shades and Maddie of course needed a doll. Too cute!
