Candy Holder or Sock?

This afternoon we were running some errands and Jackson decided to take along his sucker. While we were stopped at the red light I asked him if he was finished with it. When he didn't say anything, I turned around to check for myself.

This is what I saw...check out his right sock. He's made it into a make-shift candy holder. We've come a long way from the first sucker in the car...that one ended up smeared all over his face. This time he even remembered to put the wrapper back on before it went in his sock! Way to go, little guy!

Things I learned at the park

1. Jackson does not like lady bugs.
2. He loves wildflowers, though, and ran all around smelling many of them. I wish I would have had my camera for this. He'd run up to one, bend down and smell it, then stand up and say "good," and then move on.
3. We fed the ducks and started giving them some names. My names for them were random - Charlie, Walter, Suzie, etc. Jackson's names for two of the ducks - Memaw and Poppy. Pretty funny.
4. My favorite, though, was this: There are normally two big ducks and we call them Mama and Daddy Duck. They weren't there today, so I asked Jackson where he thought they were. He said that Mama Duck was in El Paso and that Daddy Duck was in "El Paso, too." He thinks that everyone goes to El Paso because I went there to see my friend, Stephanie, so I guess that was a pretty good guess about those ducks:) Aunt Steph, have you seen our ducks out in El Paso? If so, tell them Jackson's looking for them.

Silly Monkey

Most kids hate being on "leashes." Mine puts them on for fun!

He brought this monkey to me this afternoon and asked to wear it. He thinks that it's the coolest "pack pack" ever.

It's been almost an hour and the monkey is still on his back. Wonder if it'll come off for dinner?

Obama?

A few weeks ago Jackson picked up on President Obama's name. He would hear the newscasters saying it on TV or us mention it whenever we were reading the newspaper.
He now says "Pres-i-dent Oh-bama" and is so proud of himself for knowing this big fact. He's taken it to a new level this week, though...

and has decided that not only is Noah the new Obama,
but so is Moses. Wonder when Obama turned into an old white man?! The best part is that Jackson actually knows that it's funny to say that these men in his book are Obama. I'll ask him if that's right and he'll get this goofy grin on his face and say "ye-ah" while nodding his head. Then he'll just start laughing really hard. The kid really does has a good sense of humor and keeps us laughing quite a bit:)

When Mama doesn't feel like sweating....

we go hang out at the mall...where it's not 92 degrees! Jackson had a blast. We originally went to Collin Creek for two reasons:

1. I wanted to get him a shirt from Baby Gap
2. I thought he would have fun riding the little train.

Apparantly I haven't been shopping at that mall in a while b/c so many stores have changed. Went up the escalator (yes, I know, it says "no strollers allowed," but hey, the umbrella stroller is so manageable, so we went up anyway) to Gap and low and behold it was gone. In it's place is now a plus size store. Perfect...that helps me none! So, off we went to the play area.

Jackson had such a good time running around and sliding down all of the slides.

He loved driving the cars, too, as you can see by the huge grin on his face.

After all that we headed over to the train. Here he is about to take off for his big ride. Such a cute little engineer:)

Happy Birthday, Madison!

We have had a really fun weekend celebrating Miss Madison's 1st birthday. It is so hard to believe that she's already 1 and Jackson is 2. Here are the dynamic duo before the party started.
Almost caught both of them smiling:)
I love her "hand on the hip" action.

Gigi and Boom and the two munchkins

Jackson playing "Happy Birthday" for Madison on the piano.

All the kids at the big par-tay. They were all so cute!

After all that fun playtime, Madison told us to bring on the cake! Jackson was a big help in blowing out the candle. I don't even think he gave her a chance:)

She loved her cake...especially the icing!

Then it was time for the rest of us to enjoy the big cake. It tasted even better than it looked!

She didn't want us having more fun than her, so she had to sample some of Gigi's cake.

After all that good food, we moved on to the fun stuff--presents! Here she is admiring her princess bear.

And taking a ride on her disney princess car. How fun!
