We love the park!

Since yesterday was pretty much picture perfect we decided to spend the afternoon at the park. Jackson had so much fun teaching Madison how to feed the ducks.

Lesson number one: Chase all the ducks!

After you've tired them all out, they'll need to go relax in the water. That's when you get to feed them. Lesson number two: ducks LOVE bread

So do Jackson and Madison!

After all that work with the ducks a kid deserves to have fun in the park, so J showed M how to crawl thru the tunnel.

She mastered it like a pro!

Then a little slide action was in order. So fun:)

Nice night for a walk

Last night was so perfect that we just had to take a walk after dinner. Jackson helped us get started by bringing out all four items - 2 leashes and 2 harnesses (our dogs will literally choke themselves if they are made to walk on leashes that only attach to their collars...go figure...that would be way too much like normal dogs!) He is so helpful and lives to take our dogs on walks.

We always begin with daddy walking Sadie and Jackson walking Tyson.

This is still the case as we walk down the sidewalk. So far, so good.

However, pretty much right when we hit the main drag, Jackson hands over the leash. Last night he announced "walk, hard!" which I'm pretty sure can be interpreted as "walking the dogs is hard!" I agree, Tyson can be a little unruly. What a great way to spend the evening, though. It was fun, guys.

Happy Easter

Easter 2009. Such a nice day spent with our sweet families.

I mean, really, does it get any cuter than this? This was Jackson's first time to wear a tie. He was Jared's mini-me and we loved it!

The fam right after church. The service was so good and the kids both did great in the nursery.

After church, it was time to eat some yummy food. Look how excited Madison is to get to have "big people" food!

After lunch we had a big egg hunt in the front yard. Since it had been raining that morning, Jackson put on his rain boots! Any reason to wear those boots...it was pretty funny:)

Jackson found lots of eggs all in our yard. He was a little particular about which ones he would pick up, though, so if they didn't have candy in them, they didn't get to go in his basket.

That meant all of those real eggs that we dyed on Saturday just didn't make the cut. Oh well!
Hope y'all had a great Easter, too.

Busy Bee

Jackson has been such a busy little bee today. His first activity was to dye 12 easter eggs for the big hunt tomorrow. He was such a big help with this...although we did have to stay on our toes the entire time!

First he dropped the little dye tablets into the vinegar. He watched them until they stopped fizzing, because then it was time to add the water and get started.

Then he "helped" put the eggs into the different cups. I'm still amazed that eggs weren't just breaking all over the counter!

He told us that the green eggs were his favorite. I agree, they did look really good:)

After we colored the eggs, it was time to make the Bunny Cake! Jackson was a big help with putting on all the jelly beans. We can't wait to taste the cake tomorrow. Yum yum yum.

After all that work a little dude gets tired out and a good, long nap is in order. Two and a half hours later, Jackson woke up and was ready to get right back to work. Seriously, he was begging me to go help his daddy outside with the yard. He started out by raking the yard...

and then moved on to helping dad spread the mulch. He's been so interested in this mulch ever since their trip to Lowe's this morning to buy it. Wonder what else he's got planned for tonight? You can bet it will involve lots of activity! The kid only has two buttons: Full Speed and Asleep. We love it and we love him.
Happy Easter! Have a great day tomorrow.

Ladies Man

Today some friends came over to play and we had a really fun afternoon together. Jackson was the only boy, but he held his own quite well.

He started off by playing all the ladies a tune on the piano. He's gonna be a heartbreaker so soon!
After impressing all the girls, we tried to take one group pic. Here are Jackson, Madison, Sydney, Jane & Clare.

We ate lunch and then made cookies and let the kids decorate them with icing and sprinkles. Jackson and Clare had a big ol' time with the cookies.
Baking cookies is one of Jackson's favorite things to do these days!

I always try to get cute pictures of J and M. I thought this one was so sweet with his arms around her. Doesn't it just make you say "awww"?

Love his smile in this one, but Miss Maddie has had enough. She's got stairs to climb!

Dentist Day

Jackson had his two year check-up at the dentist today and it went really well. The sweet dental hygenists showed him all of their tools and he even let them do a swift cleaning! I was shocked. He did draw the line when they tried to floss his teeth, though. I mean, really, what two year old let's anyone floss their teeth?

He left the office with a medal (for no longer using a paci) a monkey sticker that said "I got my teeth cleaned today!, " four other stickers and two little toys. That's a pretty good day.

Neighborhood Easter Festival

Our neighborhood had our annual Easter Festival this past weekend and we all had such a good time. There were so many neat things for Jackson to enjoy and I think he got to just about all of them.

Right before the big egg hunt. He's a little peeved that he can't run out there until the hunt officially starts. The boy likes to hunt for candy!

Look at all these eggs!

All of the grandparents came with us and got to help out with the J man.

Some of Jackson's friends brought their families, too. Here are all the boys--Hunter, Judah, Levi and Jackson.

After the hunt, Jackson got to enjoy a train ride with Memaw and Gigi.

Then he went over to check out the petting zoo. He got to see lots of cool animals--a baby pig, ducks, rabbits, goats and even a llama.

He also really liked petting this cow.

The baby chicks were such a big hit, too. Check 'em out, they were all different Easter colors.

After feeding all those animals, Cowboy Jack needed to take his pony for a ride. He did so good!

We finished off the afternoon just basking in the sun and eating an iced sugar cookie. Pretty great afternoon, if you ask me:)
