Laid Back

That pretty much sums up our last day in San Antonio.  And we loved it that way!  We rented two cabanas at the pool and it was perfect.
We had lounge chairs, two refrigerators, two tables and plenty of chairs.  It was the best way to set up shop for our group of 13.

Jared and I met these folks back in 2003 when we first moved to Lubbock.  Actually, Stephanie and I sat next to each other on a flight out to Lubbock a few months before we both moved there!  Mike was starting law school with Jared and we all became friends right away.  Then, I got a job at University Medical Center, and Danny was my boss!  He was dating Kelly at the time, who also worked at UMC.  Fast forward 11 years and we now have 7 kids between us!  Our get-togethers are now a bit more tame, but we still have lots of good laughs.  Hopefully we can have reunions every summer from now on.

I know that these three would be on board with that idea!  Lila (4), Sam (5) and Maddie (6) all played so well together.

Cameron will be ready to run and play with all the kids next year, you can bet on that!

She's sitting up like a pro and already got the cutest little personality.

Our laid-back day included a water volleyball game for Jackson.

Burying Lila in the sand...

babysitting Cami...

and lunch in the cabana.

This little girl got to love on her big daddy, too!

The kids took turns picking up Kennedy,

and even being sweet to each other, too:)

After lunch it was back to the pool.  Lila practiced floating on her back...

and her baby sister enjoyed splashing in the water.

Then we floated down the river to the beach for the afternoon.

Such a fun scene!

Jackson, Maddie and Lila all worked on a Happy 40th Anniversary sign for Gigi and Boom, since it was their big day, but it never quite worked out. That's a lot of letters to write in the sand! We did call and wish them a happy anniversary that night, though:)

Madison showed off her gymnastics skills, too.  Go girl!

Jackson completed a heart with a 40 inside of it, so our project wasn't a complete loss.

Cami fell asleep on my shoulder while I was visiting with Kelly.  Such a good thing to do on a laid-back kind of day.

Then we all got ready for dinner that night.  These five clean up well, I think!

We found a good Mexican restaurant in downtown SA, Rosarios, and enjoyed our last meal together.  J man sat next to Danny, his weekend BFF, which made his night!  The adults had some good margaritas and everyone had sopapillas for dessert.  The perfect way to end our day.
